The largest bays have made by means of plate tectonics. As the Paleozoic/early Mesozoic era super-continent Pangaea broke up alongside curved and indented fault lines, the continents moved apart and left large bays; these incorporate the Gulf of Guinea, the Gulf of Mexico/The united states, and the Bay of Bengal, that's the planet's largest bay.[7]
